About Fumapest Phillip Island

Fumapest has developed a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the control of pests in domestic and commercial premises. However, termite control is our speciality, as termites are a major problem in Phillip Island . Most homes in this region are at significant risk of termite attack, especially where eucalypt gum trees are close by - within a 100 meter radius of the building.

Fumapest has been an Accredited Member of The Australian Pest Controllers Association Inc since it's incorporation in 1987.
Fumapest is fully insured with professional indemnity, public liability and workers compensation insurances.
Fumapest has experienced a very high success rate in the provision of pest and termite contol services to many tens of thousands of premises serviced since we have been in business. In fact, we are proud of the fact that Fumapest has never made a claim against it's insurance cover for negligent or faulty workmanship.
FUMAPEST uses the safest, most effective pest control and termite control products, such as Termidor termite barrier soil treatment chemical and Intrigue termite baiting dust. These products and the alternatives are discussed in detail in the Termite Control section of this website.
The older style more toxic pesticides (solvent based) are commonly used by the dodgy "cut-price" operators. Refer to the Consumer Advice section of this website later on for consumer protection advice on selecting a professional pest control service. Be careful in selecting a pest controller - it's far too easy to start up a pest control business in VIC and employ people using pesticides with little or no training ... more details.

Termites Attack 1 in 3 homes - will Yours be next?

Recent industry surveys suggest that about one in three homes will suffer a termite infestation. To make matters worse your home insurance policy does NOT cover the damage which may involve costly replacement of floor, wall and roofing timbers.
termites can build a sub-nest in a wall cavity of a home
Picture of a termite inspector examining an above ground termite nest built inside a wall cavity of a home.
Termites build such nests, where moisture collects in the wall cavity, from leaking pipes, shower recess, guttering, etc.
Your best protection - arrange for a Termite Inspection and Report to Australian Standard 3660, including written specifications for a complete Termidor soil barrier treatment (where practicable) to protect your home. Prevention is better than cure.

Premise or Termidor - the best termite control solutions

The new hi-tech products from the USA called Premise and Termidor, have been extensively tested in Australia and shown to offer 100% termite protection in the vast majority of situations.
Premise  and  Termidor are used for soil barrier treatment at the base of a building to prevent termite entry into the building AND by a unique delayed transfer effect can eliminate termite colony nests surrounding the building.

It's IMPORTANT to know ... About Termites

WARNING: Termite damage to a building or other timber structures can be severe and your home insurance does NOT cover the repair costs. Termites are known to destroy roofing and wall framing timbers within a few months.
