Termites attack 1 in 3 homes in the Noosa Qld region

Termites are a major worry: Recent industry surveys suggest that about one in three homes in the Noosa region will suffer a termite infestation. Your best protection is to arrange for a Termite Inspection and Report to Australian Standard 3660, including written specifications for a complete Termidor soil barrier treatment, where practicable, to protect your home. Prevention is better than cure.

Where live Termite activity is found Alert Pest will install especially designed termite bait stations containing the Nemesis brand termite bait. We closely monitor at 2 to 3 weekly intervals the stations to assess bait consumption and replenish bait therein.

Nemesis termite bait contains an IGR insect growth regulator that prevents the worker termite from regrowing it's external skeleton after moulting. Worker termites ingesting the bait will feed partly digested timber and the bait to other termites in the central nest. We use the safest, most effective products

Safety first: Recently a new range of pest control products have entered the marketplace, including hi-tech baits for the control of termites, cockroaches and ants. Although much safer to use in and around the home these products require a far higher level of skill to ensure an effective result.

For termite control we use the safer, but most effective products commercially available in Australia, such as, the Termidor and Premise termite soil treat chemical and the Nemesis termite baiting system.

Beware: The older style more toxic pesticides (solvent based) are commonly used by the dodgy "cut-price" operators. Refer to the Consumer Advice section of this website for consumer protection advice on selecting a professional pest control service.

Why it's important to know about termites

WARNING: Termite damage to a building or other timber structures can be severe and your home insurance does NOT cover the repair costs. Termites are known to destroy roofing and wall framing timbers within a few months in the Noosa region.
